    Description

    Two-sided Love Token engraved on a Silver U. S. Quarter as a host coin.  The design obviously totally obliterated however I believe that this is on a Liberty Seated Quarter.  The collection this originally came out of was of the period appropriate for this series, as were other one sided tokens included in the lot.  24.2 mm diameter, approx 5 Grams weight - the standard for the Seated Quarter when new was 6.3 grams.  With the removal of the significant amount of metal required for the design, this works out about right.  The host coin was very nearly new when engraved, as the reeding remains sharp.  Very complicated, careful and professional work, certainly worth a premium (this came out of my own collection of "cool stuff", based upon its unusual nature).
